Big Bass Bonanza Hold & Spinner: Slot Overview

How many versions of Big Bass Bonanza can Pragmatic Play develop? The answer is: yes. After many successful iterations of the Big Bass games, Pragmatic Play teamed up once again with their partner studio Reel Kingdom to produce yet another version of the popular game series. Games like Bigger Bass Bonanza or Big Bass Bonanza Megaways set the foundation for one more addition to the series: Big Bass Bonanza Hold & Spinner.

Big Bass Bonanza Hold & Spinner ist played on 5 reels with 3 rows and 10 set paylines. The game consists of 10 different winning symbols, just like its many predecessors did before. Bet sizes range from 0.10€ to 250€ (or equivalent), which is pretty high for Pragmatic Play standards. Bet sizes may vary depending on where you play.

Although many of you are probably familiar with the winning symbols by now, we of course are going to describe them to you as well as their payouts. Let’s begin with the lower tier symbols. These are of course the classic symbols from 10 to A, with many of them sharing the same payout. So do the 10’s, J’s and Q’s, coming in at 5-times your bet size per full line. Next up we already have the K’s and A’s, which will grant you 10-times your bet size for a full line. So we actually have a change of payouts here compared to the original.

Let’s get into the higher tier symbols. First up we have the various Fish swimming around, these will net you 20-times your bet size for a full line. The Fish also come with a random money value which we will cover later on in our Feature Overview. The second symbol is the Angler tool box for 50-times your bet size, sharing a payout with the next symbol, the Dragonfly. Second-to-last is the Fishing Rod for 100-times your bet size. And last but not least is the Bobber for a whooping 200-times your bet size for a full line. In terms of payouts, nothing changed on the higher end compared to the original Big Bass Bonanza.

Big Bass Bonanza Hold & Spinner: Special Symbols and Stats

Big Bass Bonanza Hold & Spinner - Basegame

Unlike the original Big Bass Bonanza, the Hold & Spinner version features another Special symbol. This new symbol will be the Money symbol. Additionally to the Fish that already carry a money value, you will also find Coins and Diamonds. These will also carry random money values between 1-time and 2,000-times your bet size. If you manage to land 3 or more of these in the same spin, you will be able to enter the Hold & Spinner Feature, which we will cover in our Feature Overview section.

Next up is the Scatter symbol, portrayed typically by a fish jumping out of the water and the label „SCATTER“. These can appear on all reels. If you manage to land 3 or more of these in the same spin you will be granted the Free Spins Feature.

Last but not least, one of the most important symbols in all of the Big Bass games, is the Fisher. Of course this old pal has to be in the game. The Fisher acts as our Wild symbol, which means that it will substitute for any winning symbol except Scatter or Money symbols. The Fisher only appears during the Free Spins Feature and plays a vital role in Big Bass Bonanza Hold & Spinner.

Let’s take a look at the stats of Big Bass Bonanza Hold & Spinner. The game comes with a base RTP of 96.07%, solid as always. The max win potential is capped at 10,000-times your bet size, which is quite surprising, since not many of the Big Bass games are capped so high. Your probability of getting the max win are once every 2,750,653 spins on average. The chances of triggering the Free Spins Feature are once every 233 spins. However, there is a way to influence that, which we will cover in the Feature Overview.

Big Bass Bonanza Hold & Spinner: Feature Overview

Big Bass Bonanza Hold & Spinner Feature

As we spoilered a bit before, Big Bass Bonanza Hold & Spinner comes with new kinds of features. We will do our best to describe them to you.

  • Hold & Spinner

The biggest addition compared to the original Big Bass Bonanza is the Hold & Spinner Feature. This feature can be triggered by landing 3 or more Money symbols in the same spin. If you manage to do so, the game screen will change and all symbols except for your Money symbols will disappear. The Money symbols you triggered with are kept in place and their value is collected and safed. You will be granted 4 Respins. Whenever you land another Money symbol, all Money values in sight are collected and your Respins are reset. The feature ends when you have no more Respins left or the max win potential of 10,000-times your bet size has been reached.

  • Free Spins Feature

Landing 3 or more Scatters in the base game in the same spins will award you with Free Spins. Depending on how many Scatters you have triggered with, you will be starting with 10, 15 or 20 Free Spins. You will get a bar on the top that shows your progress. During the Free Spins, a Fisher can land on any reel. If a Fisher lands, he will collect any Money values from fish in sight, as well as fill up your progress bar. After landing 4 Fishers, you will be granted access to the next stage. Every stage comes with a multiplier higher than the one in the stage before. First stage is no multiplier, second stage is x2, third stage is x3 and the last stage will be x10. These multipliers only ever work in their respective stage. The multipliers are applied to all Money values the Fisher collects. Every stage comes with 10 additional Free Spins. However, the additional Free Spins cannot be played until your previous set of Free Spins was used. So you can never have more than 10 spins per stage, except for the first stage, depending on how many Scatters you triggered with.

Big Bass Bonanza Hold & Spinner - Free Spins Feature

  • Extra Bet

Big Bass Bonanza Hold & Spinner features an Extra Bet function. If you are willing to pay an additional 50% of your bet size on top every spin, you have higher chances to trigger both the Hold & Spinner Feature as well as the Free Spins Feature. Keep in mind that payouts do not change for that, they will be based on your base bet value. Activating the Extra Bet function has a slightly higher RTP than the base game and the Bonus Buy Feature with 96.09%.

  • Bonus Buy Feature

Big Bass Bonanza Hold & Spinner also comes with a Bonus Buy Feature. If you don’t want to wait until you get 3 Scatters or 3 Money symbols, you can easily buy your desired feature. Both the Hold & Spinner Feature as well as the Free Spins Feature are purchasable for 100-times your bet size. Just choose your preferred feature on the left of the screen.

Big Bass Bonanza Hold & Spinner: Our Conclusion

Another Big Bass game, another conclusion. What can we say, Big Bass Bonanza Hold & Spinner looks like a solid game. Pragmatic Play, partnered with Reel Kingdom, took two of the most basic and easily understandable features and build them into one of their most successful slot games of all time.

The idea of having a Hold & Spin Feature together with a progressive collecting feature is nothing new though. Reel Kingdom did that before with the games Floating Dragon Hold & Spin, as well as Floating Dragon Megaways. These work fairly similar, although they have a few tiny differences.

But after all, we can’t complain. Big Bass Bonanza Hold & Spinner is a great addition to the series and we’re sure that it will be another successful part of it. Many people liked the concept of the Floating Dragon games and we can almost certainly say that it will be no different for Big Bass Bonanza Hold & Spinner. This concludes our online slot review. We hope we left no question unanswered and we’re sure that you will have a lot of fun with Big Bass Bonanza Hold & Spinner.
