As for winning symbols, these are, just like in many other games of NoLimit City, more designed around the whole theme of the game. So NoLimit City did not go with classic winning symbols, they went with their own set of winning symbols. There are 10 winning symbols in total, with 6 lower paying symbols and 4 high-tier symbols.

Let’s start on the lower end. Here you will find a bunch of winning symbols that follow the general theme of the game. So at first we have the Lighter for 0.4 times your bet size per full connected way. Next is the old-school camera, clocking in at 0.45 times your bet size, followed by the Keyring for 0.6 times. Then we see the Backpack, paying 0.75 times your bet size. Second to last low-tier symbol is the License Plate, which actually reads „California“ instead of Texas, coming in at 1 time your bet size. Now, let’s take a look on the higher end. First up we have the Route 66 Sign, paying you 1.75 times. Next is the black-haired girl for 2 times your bet size. Second to last will be the blond-haired 70’s Girl for 2.5 times your bet size. Of course, what would a NoLimit City game be without Special symbols? There are a few of them, we will list them all and explain what they’ll do.

Scatter Symbol

First we will take a look at the Scatter symbol. This one is easily recognizeable by a teal car with a skull decal on its hood. It can only ever land on reels 1, 3 and 5. If you manage to land 3 of those in the same spin, you will be granted access to The Ride or The Last Ride. Scatter symbols also come with another function called Burnout. Wild Symbol

Wild symbols will appear in form of a gas canister with a big „W“ on it. These actually play a crucial role in getting big wins. The Burnout feature is probably the most underwhelming one. When landing 2 Scatter symbols on the same row, they will trigger a Burnout, where they will destroy every symbol currently on the field and drop new ones in.

The Ride

The Ride is the Free Spins Feature of Kiss My Chainsaw. To enter it you will need to land 3 Scatter symbols in the same spin. This will reward you with 8 Free Spins. During the Free Spins Feature, the playing board is expanded by a 5th row. Additionally, Wild symbols can now hold a maximum multiplier of x4 before they can be deleted. While this doesn’t sound like much of an improvement at first, this can scale pretty high since Wild symbols multiply each other. Retriggering is not directly possible, however, you can get extra spins by landing 2 or 3 Scatter symbols. 2 Scatter symbols will grant you an additional spin, while 3 Scatter symbols will crank up your feature.

In order to help you with your goal of getting 3 Scatter symbols, there is the „The Last Ride“ feature. This one requires you to get 3 Scatter symbols on the same row in the base game. If you manage to do that, you will not only get 1 additional spin, you are also guaranteed to get a Scatter on reel 5 in every spin.

Chainsaw Larry Spins

The Chainsaw Larry Spins are exactly what you want. In order to get them, you will need to land 3 Scatter symbols in the Free Spins Feature. If you manage to do that, you will get 3 additional Free Spins. This feature is really macabre. The friendly looking Larry will put on his rabbit mask and pull out his chainsaw. That’s why there will be a change to the payout table. Larry is removed and the high-tier symbols get an upgrade, as well as another symbol: the said Rabbit Mask, taking the place of the Route 66 Sign.

During Chainsaw Larry Spins, Larry will become a jumping Wild symbol, changing his position in every spin, on any position of reels 2 to 4. Although the name of the game sounds like an 80’s trash horror movie, it actually battles a serious topic.

As for the gameplay, Kiss My Chainsaw is nothing too crazy. All of the mechanics are pretty easy to understand, and there aren’t too many Special symbols with fancy features. Even the Chainsaw Larry Spins are quite easy to understand if you saw them once or twice. They sound way more complicated on paper than they really are.

So, is Kiss My Chainsaw a good game? Hard to tell. It’s definitely not a bad game, that’s for sure, but definitely also not the best NoLimit City have ever created. But it can most definitely have its exciting moments, even without the Chainsaw Larry Spins. If you manage to get a bunch of Wild Symbols that guarantee a win and therefore a multiplier, you will feel the thrill and beg for a good symbol to land in front. So all in all, Kiss My Chainsaw is an enjoyable game, that is, unlike many other NoLimit City games, easy to understand and therefore guarantees a few exciting moments.
